GI and GIS Vendors: What will the UK Location Programme mean to your development plans and your customers?
The UK Location Programme Team will be holding a one day briefing session for commercial GI and GIS companies on 18th November 2009 in London. This is being event managed by the AGI.
The UK Location Programme was created to deliver the UK Location Strategy and the INSPIRE Directive.
As we look to 2010 and beyond, the role of the commercial sector becomes key to enabling the benefits of the UK Location Strategy (and therefore those of INSPIRE) to be realised across the public and private sectors.
This briefing will focus on the needs of the commercial sector and cover the following important issues:
- Introducing the UK Location Information Infrastructure
- Explanation of the Conceptual Design and the Blueprint and what they will deliver
- Engaging with the UK Location Programme - what's in it for you?
- The benefit and value for your customers - what's in it for them?
- What will happen and when - the roadmap for future developments
This is the first time that something of this level of detail and focus for GIS System Suppliers has been on offer - so don't miss this chance to learn and to have your say.
Who should attend?
This is not aimed at the end user. This briefing has been specifically created for the system supplier community and with active support of the AGI and the System Supplier SIG. Attendance is open to any System Supplier, Systems Integrator or Software Developer:
- involved in provision of data sharing and interoperability tools
- with a need to understand the impact that the INSPIRE Directive and UK Location Strategy will have on your development plans and the impact on your customers
