Ten nominations received for AGI Council 2010 - Election to be called
AGI is pleased to announce that 10 candidates have been nominated for places on the AGI Council for 2010.
Hugh Barron, British Geological Survey, has been nominated unopposed to serve on Council in the seat allocated to AGI Scotland. Congratulations Hugh!
The remaining 9 nominations concern candidates for the 4 'non-regional' seats on the AGI Council for 2010. Owing to the number of candidates exceeding seats available, an election will take place between the Wednesday 4th November and Friday 4th December 2009. The 4 nominated candidates that receive the most votes from AGI members will win their place on Council for a three-year period.
AGI members will very soon be contacted about the voting process and supplied with a link to the ballot paper and all candidates' supporting statements.
The 9 nominated are as follows:
Robert Barr - Manchester Geomatics
Lars Calvert - Communities & Local Government
Pam Dowell - Defence Geographic Centre
Marc Hobell - Ordnance Survey
Anne Kemp - Atkins Ltd
Jonathan Marshall - British Waterways
Mike Saunt - Astun Technology
Gesche Schmid - Local Government Association
Peter Ter Haar - Ordnance Survey
We strongly encourage all AGI members to take part in the election. All membership card holding, current, paid-up members are eligible to vote. This includes 'named members' included in Corporate AGI Memberships (for example Sponsor, Central Government, Local Authority, Corporate, Small Business etc.,).
FOR CONSTITUTIONAL REASONS THIS IS A POSTAL VOTE. MEMBERS HAVE ONE MONTH TO VOTE. PLEASE DON'T LEAVE IT TO THE LAST MINUTE BEARING IN MIND ONGOING POSTAL DISRUPTION.
Election details, such as the Ballot Form and personal statements from the nominated candidates will be announced very shortly.
