Notification of Annual General Meeting 2010

This year's AGI Annual General Meeting will take place on 29^th September 2010 at the Holiday Inn, Stratford-upon-Avon.  All AGI members are encouraged to attend.

The AGM will be held during AGI GeoCommunity ‘10, AGI's annual conference.  If you would like more information on this event or wish to register for the conference please go to  http://www.agi.org.uk/agi-geocommunity-registration/

Please note this year's AGM will be taking place at 17:05, immediately after the presentations at the end of Day 1 of the AGI Conference and immediately before the ‘Soap Box’ event.  Those attendees who have not registered for the conference on that day will not be allowed to enter the room until the presentations have finished. Registration for the AGM will take place outside the Charlecote Room.

The Finance report will include the presentation of the 2009 annual accounts, approved by Council and submitted to Company's House earlier this year. The accounts for 2009 are available on the AGI website at http://www.agi.org.uk/who-we-are/

6.    Proposal to amend the Articles of Association for three reasons –

• to enact the provisions of the Companies Act 2006 which requires clauses, previously contained within the Memorandum, to be transferred to the Articles of Association
• to allow electronic voting in Council elections
• to make it clear that, on winding up, any residual assets belong to the members
