Following the imminent departure of Chris Holcroft, the current AGI Director and CEO, to his new post as CEO at the Royal Meteorological Society, AGI is pleased to be able to announce that Peter Capell will be joining the AGI as Director and CEO for an interim period.  This will ensure that AGI continues to champion our mission to maximise the use of geographic information whilst providing continuity in our membership service and undertaking a recruitment process to seek a long term repleacement. Peter is a former Chair of the AGI and a well-respected figure within the geospatial Industry.  We are grateful to Peter for agreeing to take on this position. With Peter’s excellent knowledge of the AGI's GeoCommunity, it means it will be ‘business as usual’.

Peter said  ‘I am very pleased for Chris but he will be very much missed as AGI Director and CEO as he has done a terrific job for the AGI over the past years. I am very conscious that he will be a hard act to follow but I am looking forward to taking on the position as Interim Director/CEO and working with the AGI Team and with Council until a new Director is appointed. I look forward to attending this year's Conference, which looks very exciting, and I hope to have the opportunity to meet as many members as possible over those days.

Peter will officially take up the role of Director and CEO in October.
