As Chief Executive Officer I lead the AGI Team and work closely with the Chairman, AGI Council members and our Regional and Special Interest groups to deliver the aims and responsibilities of the Team as listed above. I am particularly concerned to ensure that the benefits of AGI membership are delivered effectively to all our members; companies, government bodies and individuals alike. I also see an important part of my role being raising awareness of the AGI to non members and ensuring that the AGI makes a contribution to public policy developments affecting all aspects of GI. In addition to overseeing the smooth day to day running of the AGI I work with our members to create a stimulating events programme that is responsive to the rapid pace of technological development. Having myself worked in both the public and private sectors I feel strongly that the AGI has an essential role to play in bringing people together from across all sectors to deliver our key objectives.

I am responsible for both administration and finance within the AGI. The former covers organisational matters and generally delivering services to our members as effectively as possible. The latter includes financial controls, production of management accounts, monitoring budgets and ensuring properly-audited statutory accounts. I represent AGI on various committees and liaise as best I can with AGI Council and our various membership groups. Above all, it is my role to ensure that the AGI, as a not-for-profit organisation pursues its objectives within a framework of managed risk and within set budgets.
Events Manager - Claire Gilmour
