Calling all academic staff and postgraduates in the geocommunity!

Put in a paper abstract for AGI GeoCommunity ’12 and you have a chance of winning one of up to 10 academic bursaries to attend at an incredibly low price!

AGI GeoCommunity is the largest and most comprehensive independent conference in the UK digital mapping and geospatial calendar. The conference provides real insight and leadership in current geographic information and location based issues via a range of keynote addresses and conference papers as well as by hands on training and face to face delegate networking.

AGI GeoCommunity '12 - will be held in Nottingham on the 18 – 20 September 2012. This is the 6th year of the extremely popular ‘AGI GeoCommunity’ format and is the second year at the University of Nottingham’s purpose built East Midlands Conference Centre.

As in previous years we strongly encourage and welcome content from the academic geocommunity. Here is your chance to engage with GI professionals from all sectors and a superb showcase for your academic research.

Paper abstracts are collected using an easy-to-use online system and the deadline is 25th April 2012.

So what’s on offer?

A £175 grant will be discounted from the standard speaker rate package to allow the choice of one of two options:

1. The 'Full conference package' including the icebreaker event and two nights of accommodation = £165 + VAT

2. The Conference package for 21st and 22st September excluding the icebreaker event and one night of accommodation on the 20th = £35 + VAT

The necessary ‘small print’:

 

  • The bursaries are allocated at the discretion of the Conference committee.
  • Bursaries granted are non-transferable.
  • A maximum of 10 bursaries are available. 
  • Papers accepted into the proceedings will qualify as well as papers considered to be of high merit which for operational reasons may not be included in the final conference programme.
  • The bursary options are those above only. 
  • The bursaries do not cover travel costs. 
  • Our standard cancellation policy will be applied for cancellations (contact AGI for more details).
