Title: Open Data using Open GIS
This session will focus on bringing two of the most talked about elements of geospatial information together in a hands-on session, Open Data and Open GIS. Participants will manipulate OS OpenData with other open data sets using Quantum GIS, an open GIS, to answer a real world problem. This session is an abridged version of the successful OS OpenData Masterclasses.
Autodesk
Presenter: John Allen
Title: Conceptual Infrastructure Design in accurate geographic context: An Introduction to Autodesk Infrastructure Modeller
This session will provide an introduction to Autodesk Infrastructure Modeller in the context of a multi-disciplinary project environment. Participants will build a realistic, 3D view of an existing site by utilising geospatial and CAD data and will then add information at various levels of detail to represent stages in the design process. This will range from to civil surfaces to architectural models. Once built, the model will be used as a base for conceptual design, with users sketching in new data to create design proposals for stakeholder approval.
