The Lincolnshire local authority, South Kesteven District Council has recently gone live with their new on-line map service.

The system, which utilises Stratus Connect from Pitney Bowes Business Insight (PBBI), allows residents and visitors to discover information about the area, whether it's a resident interested in finding out more about a planning application or a visitor looking for a car park, the maps can help.

Stratus Connect is a Web 2.0 built mapping tool with easy to use navigation and search facilities and brings spatial capabilities and address based searching to further enhance South Kesteven's web site and customer experience. The Authority upgraded from the older Exponare product and for their internal intranet GIS capabilities, CDR has installed PlanWeb.

The landing page has a clear explanation of the data sets available and, crucially, how to use the map portal.

From here the required information can be selected and the application is accessed with the required data set overlaid on Ordnance Survey MasterMap or Raster maps.
