ACTIVE Adds Additional Functionality to eLMI

ACTIVE Extends Skills Training Amongst Businesses

A year ago ACTIVE were instructed to build the eLMI tool (electronic Labour Market Information) on behalf of LSIS as part of the World Class Skills programme, aimed at supporting further education training providers and colleges to meet the training and skills needs of businesses in their localities.

To mark the first anniversary of the product launch, and following early user feedback, ACTIVE has now successfully added new functionality to support wider use of the system. Currently eLMI can be used to target localities based on both the labour market profile of a given area and the current customer penetration. Adding the new assessor functionality, available from April 2010, ensures eLMI can be used to close the loop to ensure that target areas are prioritised with both employer demand and assessor supply in mind. The new functionality will also highlight areas not efficiently covered by assessors to support appropriate recruitment of new assessors to meet demand.

This intelligence will help ensure colleges manage current customers and target new customers in an efficient manner, minimising delivery costs and prioritising target areas to maximise returns even more effectively than they can with current functionality.

The eLMI tool continues to be a key legacy of the World Class Skills programme and is due to be available to users for at least another 2 years.
