Esri UK Launches LocalView Fusion in the Cloud

Enhanced Citizen Engagement at Lower Cost

Information Systems (GIS), has launched the UK’s first GIS solution for local authorities, LocalView Fusion, in the cloud.   Local authorities can now benefit from engaging citizens with interactive maps and location-driven information, at both reduced cost and complexity.

One of the major features of LocalView Fusion in the cloud is the introduction of pre-designed GeoTemplates for common tasks, which can be easily implemented by non-GIS specialists.  With no software to buy, install or maintain, GeoTemplates offer users a scalable way to develop and embed easy-to-use, customised, citizen-centric maps.   From intuitive maps and pop-up information windows to Geo RSS feeds that enable citizens to subscribe to alerts about events in their area, GIS web publishing has never been easier or more accessible. 

GeoTemplates also enable local authorities to offer a more consultative approach to local government by encouraging feedback and information from citizens, staff and partner organisations, in just a few clicks.   For example, views can be gathered on planning proposals or citizens can be invited to report the location of problem issues such as graffiti or pot-holes, through survey or questionnaire templates.  These can be easily created using a range of standard question formats and respondents can specify locations on a map by text, from pre-logged lists or uploaded photographs and images.
