Sigma Seven expand to new Edinburgh HQ

Release date: 6th June 2011

After ten years at Edinburgh Technopole on the south of the city, technology company Sigma Seven have relocated to larger premises in Gordon Lamb House on Jackson’s Entry in the capital’s city centre. The move was made to accommodate Sigma Seven’s growing staff; provide a better working environment and reduce staff commutes.

Leaders in the provision of mobile map-based work management, Sigma Seven have won several significant contracts over the last two years. As a result, they have recruited four new team members to the company in that period and have plans to expand further. The new jobs which have been created bring staff numbers to fifteen.

Existing Sigma Seven customers include Scottish Water, Scottish Power and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency.

Recent wins include a major contract supplying Wales & West Utilities with a mobile maps and work management solution for their thousand strong field force; creating a mobile address management system for Rushcliffe Borough Council and research and development work with the Health and Safety Laboratory, an agency of the Health and Safety Executive.

Paul Reid - Managing DirectorPaul Reid, Sigma Seven’s Managing Director, said, ‘Our new, larger headquarters reflect the growing success of Sigma Seven. We have secured a number of new contracts and have taken on more staff both to provide services to those clients and to help us expand our business.

‘Changes such as the Public Sector Mapping Agreement have helped create opportunities for Sigma Seven and we are well placed to capitalise on them. We are confident that we will announce several new contracts in sectors such as the emergency services and infrastructure construction.’

Sigma Seven’s last financial year saw the company turnover increase by 40%. Their revenue target for next year is £1.5m and they plan to start expanding abroad.
