Third Party INSPIRE Metadata Software and View Service solutions
UK Location would like to make it easier to discover, combine, evaluate, share and reuse location information. The Discovery Metadata Service is key to its operation. The service will provide the means for data providers and data publishers to create compliant discovery metadata for datasets, data series and services and publish these metadata resources, via data.gov.uk. To enable data providers and publishers to create compliant discovery metadata resources for datasets, data series and online services UK Location has published a list of third party system and service providers that have released INSPIRE metadata software. The aim of this list is to help data providers and data publishers understand the availability of INSPIRE metadata software from commercial providers.
Under the INSPIRE Regulations, public authorities which publish INSPIRE datasets must establish and operate five services, collectively described as Network Services. One of these is View Services, making it possible, as a minimum, to display, navigate, zoom in and out, pan or overlay viewable spatial datasets and to display legend information and any relevant content of metadata. To assist in providing an INSPIRE compliant view service UK Location has published a list of third party system and service providers that have released INSPIRE view service solutions. The aim of this list is to help data publishers understand the availability of INSPIRE view services from commercial providers.
The published lists for third party INSPIRE metadata software and view service solutions is available in the UK Location Resource Centre at: http://location.defra.gov.uk/resources/third-party-suppliers/
