Exemplar Awards closes on 23rd September

Please help us to raise the profile of your gazetteer across local authorities.

The National Gazetteers Exemplar Awards process is an invaluable opportunity to demonstrate the significance of the work that you do.  It gives us the opportunity to present your work through case studies, promotional booklets, press releases and best practice papers across the public sector and show to everyone the innovation and importance of the work that you do.

This is particularly essential at a time where addresses and streets have a high profile across the public sector due to the imminent launch of the national address gazetteer.  As well as being integral to the business of your authority, LLPGs and LSGs also lie at the heart of the national gazetteer.

And there are now just 9 days left to get in your entry for this year’s Exemplar Awards!

Why apply for an Award?

  • raise the profile of your LLPG or LSG within your authority
  • gain national recognition for your work
  • gain internal recognition for your projects
  • demonstrate how your work makes a difference to service improvement and improves efficiencies
  • generate positive publicity both internally and externally
  • motivate staff
  • enable other authorities to benefit from your good practice.

Categories that require an entry form include:

  • Citizen Award
  • Financial Award
  • Green Award
  • Integration Award
  • Naming Award
  • Technology Award
  • Peer Award

Other categories at the Awards which do not require an entry form as these awards will be made on the basis of statistical analysis include:

  • Award to 2011 Exemplar
  • Best in Region LLPG
  • Best in Region LSG
  • Most Improved LLPG
  • Most Improved LSG

The closing date for the Awards is 23 September 2011.

For more details about all of the Awards categories, please see http://www.geoplace.co.uk/geoplace/link.htm?nwid=251

The Awards will be presented at the Everything Happens Somewhere conference and exhibition on 3 November in Nottingham http://www.geoplace.co.uk/geoplace/link.htm?nwid=263

A case study booklet will be produced shortly after the event with a detailed study of all winning projects. This is circulated to a very wide range of interested individuals across local and central government and further afield.

The closing date for the Awards is 23 September 2011.
