Aylesbury: September 16, 2011 – Esri UK, the country’s leading provider of Geographic
Information Systems (GIS) is pleased to announce a full programme of support for the
AGI Annual Conference, AGI Community ’11; leading with a plenary keynote.
Amanda Turner, Esri UK’s General Manager for Commercial Markets, will take to the podium on day one to share her observations as a newcomer to the GIS community on the exciting opportunities and biggest challenges facing the industry. Esri UK has two further speakers: John Clayson, Industry Practice Manager for Local Government, will talk about how Local Authorities can maximise environmental and revenue opportunities using GIS and
Will White, GIS Consultant, will discuss methods for processing; analysing and visualising Open Data within a GIS.
“We are looking forward to sharing valuable insight and knowledge with fellow attendees at what has become one of the biggest UK events in the geospatial calendar,” commented Amanda Turner. “In particular, the event gives the AGI GeoCommunity the opportunity to debate how GIS can become more widely accepted in the boardroom and more accessible to non specialists”.
Esri UK will also be hosting three interactive workshops throughout the two-day event, covering: ‘Working with OGC Web Services within ArcGIS Server’, ‘Introducing the ArcGIS Desktop 10 3D Analyst Extension’ and ‘Creating a map book using ArcGIS Desktop 10’s Data Driven Pages functionality’.
