Envitia is the first vendor to support new RTIG data standards

Envitia is pleased to announce that its CUTLAS-RTI bus real time information system now supports the RTIG-Inform Digital Air Interface Protocol (DAIP). CUTLAS-RTI is first to market with open standards-based data exchange support.

CUTLAS–RTI has a number of open interfaces to enable Bus Operators to access strategy-driven functions that can selectively alert on bus operations. This can be used to detect unwelcome events or conditions such as early or late running, road congestion, potentially poor driving practice.

“With the adoption of these new open standards our customers have the opportunity to combine GPS and GPRS in real-time directly from the Electronic Ticket Machine (ETM). Use of this data can help drive down costs whilst improving overall service.” Says Mark Percival, Head of Intelligent Transport Systems at Envitia Ltd.

Mark Percival added, “DAIP has now been running in Kent since it was deployed early this year. The first major operational bus ETM data influx occurred in late March when 142 bus ETMs were connected in Kent overnight.  Bus location and service data from ETMs using DAIP has continued to grow.  CUTLAS-RTI now has well over 300 buses reporting.”

Envitia will also be demonstrating the new software at Coach & Bus Live 2011. Visit us on stand G59 at the Birmingham NEC.
