MapAction needs volunteer Virgin Marathon 'Cheerers'

For the first time ever disaster mapping charity MapAction has been authorised to field a team of runners in the Virgin London Marathon 2012. With six runners from the geocommunity facing the big challenge, the call is now going out for volunteer marathon 'Cheerers' to help lift the spirits of the MapAction team and the many other charity runners who will be completing the 26.2 mile circuit for good causes.

Before aid agencies can help people in a crisis, their first need is for information. Where are the people in greatest need? Where are the relief resources? Who is doing what already?
