Cadcorp announces Workload Modeller for UK fire services market.

Operations support application enhances offering for sector.

Stevenage, Herts, UK. 11th January 2010 - Digital mapping and geographic information systems (GIS) software developer Cadcorp has announced the release of a new application for GIS users in the Fire Service sector. The Cadcorp Workload Modeller extends the range of applications available to fire services that are based on the Cadcorp SIS - Spatial Information System product suite. It has already been deployed at a number of UK Fire Services.

Policy options for 2011 Census Geography from the Office for National Statistics: Consultation

The Office for National Statistics has launched a consultation on geography policy for the 2011 Census outputs. The consultation will run until the 26th March and invites users to comment on any aspect of the policy, but particularly on three key areas of it.

These are the creation of a new geography for business statistics, the need for an upper layer of Super Output Areas, and to raise any exceptional instances where 2001 census geographies do not perform as they should.

This consultation represents a last opportunity to provide feedback on geographies before the 2011 Census and to support the development of Census geography policy. Further details can be found at the URL below:

New High Resolution Bathymetry Model of the English Channel

Hampshire, UK, 04 January 2010 - SeaZone took a major step forward in December 2009 towards its aim to create a high resolution and accurate bathymetry model of the UK Continental Shelf by completing the first phase of its Bathymetry Improvement Programme for the northern English Channel between South Foreland and Land's End.

The system, which utilises Stratus Connect from Pitney Bowes Business Insight (PBBI), allows residents and visitors to discover information about the area, whether it's a resident interested in finding out more about a planning application or a visitor looking for a car park, the maps can help.
