NLPG & NSG Win Prestigious European Award

The National Land and Property Gazetteer (NLPG) and the National Street Gazetteer (NSG) have received a Best Practice Award at a European Spatial Data Infrastructure Conference. Twelve finalists, including the NLPG/NSG managed to reach the last stage of the competition process, out of 130 original submissions from across Europe. All twelve finalists received the Award and the NLPG NSG were the only entries from England and Wales to do so.

NLPG at the Heart of Hackney's Award Winning Citizen Index

London, 03 December 2009 - The NLPG (National Land and Property Gazetteer) is providing the essential address and location information to the London Borough of Hackney's award winning 'Citizen Index'.The Citizen Index is a central repository of citizen information that will be used by all service systems and new online service portal. Because the NLPG is a national dataset the Citizen Index is also populated with information from neighbouring boroughs to ensure that Hackney's systems can cater for those who work but do not necessarily live in the borough.

INSPIRE win for three AGI members

A British consortium comprising RSW Geomatics, 1Spatial and Rob Walker has won a contract with the EC's Joint Research Centre (home of INSPIRE) to provide 'Development of Technical Guidance for the INSPIRE Transformation Service'.� This will be delivered over the next 8 months and includes explanatory videos of Schema Transformation in operation, as a result of a review of 'state of the art' spatial data transformation services and also creating a prototype of a schema transformation service.
