New License Broadens Appeal of National Land and Property Gazetteer (NLPG)

London, 18 November 2009 - The NLPG (National Land and Property Gazetteer) is more accessible than ever thanks to a new license that makes it attractive for smaller customers such as Housing Associations and Primary Care Trusts. Covering England and Wales, the NLPG can now be licensed for smaller geographical areas which brings down the cost considerably for organisations with small areas of interest.

ESRI (UK) survey reveals the world's a small place after all

17th November 2009 - Research released today by ESRI (UK) to mark GIS Day and Geography Awareness Week has found that far from a perception of a shrinking world, the public overestimate the size of our planet ten-fold. The average guess for the 25,000 mile distance around the equator was more than 300,000 miles. On top of overstating the size of the planet, the public appear to overestimate the extent of current levels of scientific knowledge. One in five of the public feel that further scientific fieldwork is unnecessary, and half think exploration is more commonly linked to television documentaries than new discoveries.

GGP's GIS Addresses Corporate Information Needs in South Northamptonshire

Croydon, UK, 20 November 2009 - A suite of integrated software from GGP Systems is helping South Northamptonshire District Council provide corporate wide access to essential council records.
