Philip Lear joins Envitia to further strengthen Sales

Philip Lear has recently joined Envitia in the Sales department to provide additional support for our data harmonising and impact assessment services to Government and Utilities.

Following a Human Geography Degree from the University of Leicester, Philip worked for the Environment Agency as a regulatory officer (water resources) determining applications for water abstraction licences in the Thames region. After a period of travelling between 2005 and 2007, Philip joined Commerce Decisions Ltd (later QinetiQ Commerce Decisions Ltd) in a Business Development role with key clients including Value Wales, Northern Ireland Central Procurement Directorate, Home Office and Department of Work and Pensions. Considerable success in this role to promotion as Account Manager with a remit to market the AWARD™ software and professional service offerings to new prospects and existing customers within the NHS, Registered Social Landlord and Police Force sectors.

Envitia welcomes Gobe Hobona to the Consultancy Team 

Envitia is pleased to announce that Dr Gobe Hobona has joined Envitia as a Technical Consultant. He will be part of Envitia’s growing consultancy team supporting business development, sales, engineering and other operations across the company. Gobe holds a PhD in Geomatics with a thesis on “Wed-based Discovery and Dissemination of Multidimensional Geographic Information”.

Envitia showcasing geospatial services for fast response at Emergency Services Show, Coventry 

Envitia will be exhibiting new products and services at the Emergency Services Show 2010 at Stoneleigh Park, Coventry on November 24th and 25th.  Our integrated geospatial solutions are particularly relevant in these challenging times when disasters and emergencies seem more frequent and involve many organisations, each with a valuable contribution to make.  The common problem is access to and coordination of, not only critical personnel and resources, but as importantly the critical information that allows them to be deployed rapidly and effectively.

Envitia demonstrates powerful new capability within OWS-7 initiative

The Envitia team has been active within Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) for many years participating on working groups and demonstration initiatives.  Envitia took responsibility for architecting the Aviation Portrayal Service cluster, which involved 8 vendor’s technologies and a significant amount of information modelling. The result was an Aviation Portrayal Engineering report, with Envitia as the Editor, and contributions from many vendors.  This document is published on the OGC website, and public videos illustrating a chosen scenario have been made available, http://www.opengeospatial.org/pub/www/ows7/index.html.
