eSpatial To Host Location Intelligence Briefing in London, Seeks Strategic Partnerships With UK-Based Management Consultancies

8 November 2011 - eSpatial, leading provider of GIS (Geographical Information Systems) and pioneer in GIS delivered via Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), is hosting a location intelligence briefing in London on 30 November.

At the briefing, entitled “Discover the value of location intelligence”, the company will outline the benefits of location intelligence, and the benefits of its partnership programme.

The event will be attended by UK-based management consultancies interested in learning about the technology, and how partnering with trusted geospatial experts will benefit them and their clients.

“We know that management consultancies work in a highly competitive space, and as a result, are quick to embrace new technologies that help their clients to maximise their success,” says eSpatial’s Chief Sales & Marketing Officer Colm Mulcahy.

“The location intelligence briefing has been designed to help these organisations to quickly get up to speed with the applications and benefits of location intelligence, while also gaining exposure to our cost-effective software.”

At the event, attendees will also be treated to a live, working demonstration of eSpatial’s flagship SaaS-based GIS software, eSpatial OnDemand GIS™.

eSpatial releases new video – “eSpatial OnDemand GIS™: Location intelligence transformed”

25 October 2011 - eSpatial, leading provider of GIS (Geographical Information Systems) and pioneer in GIS delivered via Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), has released a new video, entitled “eSpatial OnDemand GIS™: Location intelligence transformed”.

The video can be viewed at: http://www.espatial.com/videos/espatial-ondemand-gis-location-intelligence-transformed

The video aims to engage both GIS experts and newcomers to location intelligence, and promotes the benefits of the company’s SaaS-based flagship GIS software, eSpatial OnDemand GIS.

“Being innovative with cloud technology is never easy, particularly in a complex industry like GIS,” says Chief Sales & Marketing Officer Colm Mulcahy.

“However, the overwhelming volume of enquiries we’ve received about eSpatial OnDemand GIS have confirmed that not only is there a market for SaaS-based GIS – but that it’s far more substantial than we’d previously imagined.”

The video is brief, and primarily focuses on the benefits of location intelligence.

After introducing the concept of location intelligence, the video outlines its business benefits, then explains the crucial difference offered by eSpatial OnDemand GIS: full-function, enterprise-grade GIS software from industry experts, now available for both experts and newcomers, with low-cost SaaS delivery.

“We’re excited to continue to bring the benefits of enterprise-grade GIS software to both the geospatial industry, and the much broader business audience that we’ve begun to engage with,” says Mulcahy

Kingston University Selects eSpatial OnDemand GIS™ For Use In MSc GIS Programme, Broadening Students’ Experience With Geospatial Industry-Standard Software

5 October 2011 - Kingston University, one of the United Kingdom’s leading universities, has selected Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) based Geographic Information System (GIS) software eSpatial OnDemand GIS™ for inclusion in its MSc GIS teaching programme.

“eSpatial approached us earlier in the year, inviting us to trial their software – Web 2.0 technologies (or SaaS) will be increasingly used within business and we wanted to expose our students to a wide range of applications,” says Dr Mike Smith.

“While we already use both commercial and open-source desktop GIS software packages to teach our students, we think it’s important for our students to experience a wide range of software on a variety of platforms. We were also keen to introduce our students to one of the few full-function GIS software packages that’s delivered in the cloud.”

A complex discipline that requires both geographical and analytical knowledge, GIS requires its students to both learn abstract concepts, and gain experience using industry-standard software.

Traditionally, providing students with hands-on experience in using GIS software has entailed an IT-heavy investment from the teaching institution. In contrast, using SaaS-based GIS software such as eSpatial OnDemand GIS requires little setup – just an Internet connection and supported browser.

Already commercially successful, with a growing and very international customer base, Dublin-based eSpatial has firmly committed to offering their software to tertiary institutions at a very low cost.

“We firmly believe that SaaS-based GIS software is the future of the geospatial industry,” says Chief Executive Officer Philip O’Doherty.

“We see great value in providing the geospatial experts of tomorrow with the opportunity to familiarise themselves with full-function, SaaS-based GIS software.

Dublin Institute of Technology Offers eSpatial’s Cutting-Edge GIS Software to Students in New Academic Year, Providing Additional Advantages to Students in a Difficult Employment Market

5 October 2011 - As tertiary institutions in the UK and Ireland commence the new academic year, students learning Geographic Information Systems (GIS) at Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) are several steps ahead of their contemporaries, as they have begun to learn how to use eSpatial OnDemand GIS™, cloud-based software developed by local company eSpatial.

“eSpatial approached us earlier in the year, offering us the opportunity to use their software for teaching purposes,” says Naimh O’Reilly, Geomatics Lecturer at DIT.

“Being able to expose our students to an additional GIS software package is a great opportunity. That the vendor is both local, and engaged in cloud computing, made this an offer too good to refuse!”

As a complex discipline that draws on analysis of both geographic and business data, students who learn GIS must grasp theoretical concepts, and gain hands-on experience with GIS software.

Traditional GIS software requires the teaching institution to invest in an IT-heavy setup. In contrast, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) based GIS software like eSpatial OnDemand GIS requires no more than a supported web browser and Internet connection.

While already a commercially successful GIS software vendor, eSpatial has made a firm commitment to offering its software at low cost to tertiary institutions like DIT.
