Esri UK Annual Conference to Showcase Innovative Approaches to Operational and Business Efficiency

Call for papers seeks pioneering thinking to support better business decisions

Aylesbury, 16th February 2010 – Esri UK, the country’s leading provider of geographic information systems (GIS) technology, has announced a call for papers and is encouraging presentation submissions for the Esri Annual Conference 2011, set to take place in May.   The company is offering both the public and private sector the opportunity to showcase innovative ideas, to demonstrate how GIS applications can drive improved operational and business efficiencies, from enhanced  decision making.

With many organisations facing more limited resources and an increased need to deliver ‘better for less’, GIS underpins added value in the public, private and academic sectors.   The conference, entitled “New Approaches for Our Changing World”, aims to explore how GIS technology is being used as a strategic and operational tool to inform business decisions in order to make organisations more efficient and effective.

Esri UK Launches Instructor-Led Virtual Training to Help Drive Productivity & Cost Savings

Online scheme goes live as direct response to customers’ resource restraints

Esri UK & Idox Sign New Partnership Agreement 

Aylesbury, February 3, 2011: Idox group and Esri UK, the country's leading provider of geographic information systems (GIS) technology, have signed a new partnership agreement. The new agreement allows use of the latest Esri ArcGIS Server and related GIS technologies within its software solutions. 

The agreement also increases the number and type of products that Idox can use allowing it, in conjunction with support from Esri UK, to extend the mapping and spatial functionality it can provide to both new and existing customers as well as providing support for existing technologies.

The British Cartographic Society makes high profile Esri appointments

Esri cartographic consultant is new BCS president 

December 2010 – The British Cartographic Society (BCS) has elected Peter Jolly, Cartographic Consultant for Esri, as its new President. Rob Sharpe, Industry Manager of Esri UK’s Technical Solutions Group, has also been elected to the BCS council.

These new appointments bring with them in-depth geographic information systems (GIS) knowledge and experience that will help inspire new approaches to cartography.

UK Businesses Call For Advanced Technology Skills To Boost Economy

Understanding technology and business is key 17th November 2010 – Influential business leaders across the UK are calling for more graduates with advanced technology and business skills to help them use high-tech systems more effectively across their organisations.

According to a survey by ESRI UK, four in five (82 per cent) businesses think the ideal future manager has an equal understanding of both business and technology. Whilst business leaders’ top priorities for their organisations are making processes more efficient (nominated by 73 per cent of businesses as important) and delivering more for less (66 per cent).
