GGP GIS Helps Urbaser Keep the Isle of Wight Clean

Croydon, 24 November 2011 – Environmental services company Urbaser is using the latest computerised mapping technology to coordinate street cleaning services on the Isle of Wight. Isle of Wight Council appointed Urbaser as its street cleaning contractor and as part of this selection process the Council identified the use of a geographic information system (GIS) as an essential component for delivering the service.  Urbaser will be using the GIS supplied by GGP Systems to map information such as bin locations, road sections and pavements to be cleansed as well as the planning work such as the clearing of fly tipping.

GGP GIS is a powerful system that helps organisations to maximise the potential of geographic information. The system allows managers to effectively plan and deliver routine cleansing services and to manage the response to ad hoc requests from the Council or members of the public.

“Using GGP GIS we have an overview of the complete contract, in fact, the complete island,” commented Dave Wallis, Contract Manager for Urbaser on the Isle of Wight.

Croydon, UK, 08 December 2010 – Tamworth Borough Council  is set to transform its services to the public with a new system that gives rapid access to information held in different council computer systems.  The Gazetteer Management Software from GGP Systems, which is designed to improve frontline services, links information together using a centralised database of all properties, land and streets.

The software; GGP NGz, will be used to manage the Council’s Local Land and Property Gazetteer (LLPG).  The Gazetteer is part of a national, definitive address database that provides a unique ID for every single property in England and Wales and allows different public information to be connected together and shared.  It will also be used to improve the accuracy of records and integrate address data for Council Revenue including Council Tax and Non Domestic Rates, and the Council’s Electoral Register in time for 2011 Census.
