Neil Silley Becomes Custodian of the  NLPG

London, 15 February 2011 - Intelligent Addressing (IA) has  appointed Neil Silley as the new custodian of the NLPG (National Land and  property Gazetteer). The custodian is responsible for the coordination of inputs  from local authorities across England and Wales to ensure the quality and  accuracy of this key national database.

London Borough of Harrow uses Royal Mail to improve its Address Intelligence  

London, 08 February 2011 - Harrow Council in north west London has been using the Royal Mail ‘Return to Sender’ (RTS) service to improve the quality of its Local Land and Property Gazetteer (LLPG). The LLPG is a vital corporate resource used increasingly as the single source of addressing by service departments across the council.

Councils mail their residents on a regular basis, to notify changes in service provision, provide up-to-date news and annually for Council Tax. Many Councils use Royal Mail’s RTS, to update their own mailing databases but very often there isn’t the manpower to deal with the returns.

Chorley Council Addresses Commercial Property Vacancies

London, 13 January 2011 – Chorley Council is using an award winning specially developed web application to access up to date and accurate information about commercial premises.  This information is then used to monitor town centre vacancies and proactively target potential tenants.

West Oxfordshire Voted Overall ‘Exemplar’ 

West Oxfordshire District Council has become the ‘2010 Exemplar’ - the first ‘Overall Winner’ at the 2010 National Land and Property Gazetteer (NLPG) and National Street Gazetteer (NSG) Exemplar Awards. This was the first occasion where conference delegates participated in an interactive vote based on the presentations of the different award category winners. Earlier, West Oxfordshire had won the Citizen Award, cited as the best example of a project delivering services to citizens for its new waste and recycling provision.

2010 NLPG and NSG Exemplar Award Winners Announced

London, 20 October 2010 – Intelligent Addressing and Local Government Information House have announced the winners of the 2010 NLPG and NSG Exemplar Awards. The awards recognise the outstanding achievements of local authorities, local partnerships, police forces and fire and rescue services, in the creation, maintenance and utilisation of the National Land & Property Gazetteer (NLPG) and the National Street Gazetteer (NSG).
