Marine and coastal geospatial data now available to download from www.geostore.com

* New data ideal for environmental protection and planning consultants - or coastal projects such as wind farm exploration

Leicester - 8th March 2011: Astrium GEO-Information Services has introduced new marine and coastal geospatial data that is now downloadable from its www.geostore.com store. The new data includes the Admiralty Raster Charts, and a new generation of vector data known as Marine Themes that is based on information sourced from the UK Hydrographic Office. Easily accessed online, the new marine and coastal data will be particularly relevant for environmental protection and planning professions in the public sector, as well as for commercial organisations - such as utility companies and other organisations - that are planning offshore wind farms or other coastal projects.

SymetriGEO Services by Astrium supports the UK-led Common Geospatial Tool Set Project (CGTS)

Leicester - 14th October 2010: SymetriGEO Services, part of Astrium Services' GEO-Information division, is supporting the Geospatial and Situational Awareness Demonstration, which is part of the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) sponsored Common Geospatial Tool Set (CGTS) research project. 

The objective of CGTS, which is being delivered by the Lockheed Martin (UK) led Team SPARTA, is to de-risk future geospatial capability procurement options and to support the delivery of a coherent geospatial capability across the UK MOD

Cost-effective online city mapping tool launched to support Government's Localism agenda

28th July 2010: Skape, a 3D city mapping online service provided by Astrium Services subsidiary Infoterra, is today launching a 3D flythrough proposals service to ensure that the 'Localism' planning agenda proposed by the new Government is achievable.

Skape undertook a survey which has highlighted that more than 76 per cent of the public struggle to interpret and understand architects' plans. Following a survey of more than 3,000 residents in Manchester, Birmingham, London and Leicester, an overwhelming 90 per cent felt the Government's plan to give people more power over local planning decisions was the right move.

Astrium wins 7.5 million euro contract from the European Space Agency for satellite image processing until 2013

20th July 2010: Astrium Services' wholly-owned subsidiary, Infoterra Ltd, has secured a further three year contract from the Farnborough Multi-Mission Processing and Archiving Facility (UK-MM-PAF) on behalf of the European Space Agency. Worth 7.5 million euros, the contract will see Infoterra continuing to deliver an operational service that will support the download and processing of images from both the ERS and ENVISAT satellite space missions.

6 out of 8 Fire and Rescue Services across Scotland now benefit from Infoterra's SAFEcommand mobile solution 

- Solution enhances incident operational safety through effective location and risk data management
- Provides real opportunity for cross border data sharing

6th July 2010: Infoterra Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of EADS Astrium, has announced that, following a recent order from Lothian and Borders Fire & Rescue, 6 out of 8 Fire and Rescue Services in Scotland now benefit from Infoterra's SAFEcommand mobile solution.

Lothian and Borders FRS has selected Infoterra to equip 78 appliances with the company's Vehicle Mounted Data System (VMDS) to provide intelligence to help manage operational safety at incidents. Infoterra's mobile data system has already been deployed in all 30 of Dumfries & Galloway's appliances, Tayside's 58 appliances and Fife & Central Scotland Fire & Rescue Service's 30 appliances. Strathclyde Fire & Rescue has invested in STEPS (Strategic Emergency Preparedness System), a collaborative emergency planning and response solution which forms part of the Infoterra product suite for public safety and homeland security operations.
