Emergency Services Response - the NLPG Has Got You Covered!

London, 13 October 2010 –  Recent press reports that the information used by emergency services do not  include new housing estates should soon be a thing of the past as Police forces  and Fire and Rescue Services make greater use of the National Land and Property  Gazetteer (NLPG).  The NLPG is designed to be the definitive address list  for England and Wales.

eSDI-Net+ database now Live!

At the end of 2009, The NLPG and NSG received a Best Practice Award at a European Spatial Data Infrastructure Conference. Twelve finalists, including the NLPG/NSG managed to reach the last stage of the competition process, out of 130 original submissions from across Europe. All twelve finalists received the Award and the NLPG NSG were the only entries from England and Wales to do so.

Report Points to the Real Financial Value of the National Land and Property Gazetteer (NLPG)

Putting the National Land and Property Gazetteer (NLPG) at the heart of Council service delivery in England and Wales can save between £15 and £24m a recent local government report revealed. The NLPG exemplifies one of a range of uses of geographic information that leads to productivity increases in local service provision. 

‘The Value of Geospatial Information to Local Public Service Delivery in England and Wales’, published by the Local Government Group seeks to examine the economic impact of the use of geospatial information upon service delivery.  The report also highlights the role played by the NLPG in many of the key service delivery areas provided by Local Government.

NSG to ‘Communicate’ Olympic Route Network Information

London, 27 September 2010 – The National Street Gazetteer (NSG) is being used as part of the planning for the Olympic Route Network (ORN) and Paralympic Route Network (PRN).  The ORN/PRN is the definitive list of designated transport routes essential to the smooth running of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Salford addresses crime prevention and detection

London, 27 August 2010 – Salford Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership is reaping the benefits, while criminals pay the price, of a multi award winning crime prevention project.  Using state of the art technology and up to date information, the system has already resulted in a reduction in crime rates and a reduction in the fear of crime.  The project has the National Land and Property Gazetteer (NLPG), the definitive land and property database for the whole of England and Wales – at its heart.
