‘Everything Happens Somewhere’ conference programme published

The conference programme for the NLPG NSG annual conference ‘Everything Happens Somewhere’, which takes place on 20th October at Cutlers’ Hall in Sheffield, has now been published.

The 'Everything Happens Somewhere' 2010 conference puts the spotlight on the importance of location and place to service delivery within local government, the fire and rescue service and police forces. The one day event combines presentations from key industry experts with networking opportunities, a well supported exhibition and also includes the presentation of the 2010 Exemplar Awards. The event aims to foster innovation and improvement whilst also showcasing and rewarding best practice.

2010 NLPG and NSG Exemplar Awards  Announced

London, 12 July 2010 - Intelligent Addressing and Local  Government Information House have announced the release of the 2010 NLPG and NSG  Exemplar Awards. The awards recognise the innovation, effort, commitment and achievement of local authorities, police and fire services in the creation, maintenance and utilisation of the National Land & Property Gazetteer (NLPG)  and the National Street Gazetteer (NSG).

Intelligent Addressing  and Local Government Information House will jointly present the awards at a one  day conference and exhibition ‘Everything Happens Somewhere’ which takes place  at Cutlers’ Hall in Sheffield on 20th October 2010.

Welsh Assembly Government Adopts the NLPG  

London, 05 July 2010 – The Welsh Assembly Government has chosen to  license the NLPG (National Land and Property Gazetteer) as its source of  property information forthcoming Planning Application registration and tracking system.  The decision was taken as it was felt that only the NLPG could  provide the accuracy and depth of national coverage as well as the reliability required.

West Sussex NLPG system addresses litter curse

London, 22 June 2010 - AXESS West Sussex, a partnership of County, District and Borough Councils, is using the latest technology combining online maps, SMS text messaging and handheld mobile devices to help tackle fly tipping and litter in Crawley. The National Land and Property Gazetteer (NLPG) – the definitive land and property database for England and Wales is at the heart of this Award-winning project to transform street cleaning in West Sussex. Through improving communications between citizens and the council, tens of thousands of pounds worth of savings plus tangible improvements in operational efficiency and service delivery have been realised.
