TGG Contributes to Bournemouth’s ‘Go-Green’ Initiative 

Thermal mapping helps residents save money on energy bills

7/13/2010: Cambridge – The GeoInformation Group (TGG), a leading supplier of thermal imaging data and services, has supplied Bournemouth Borough Council with a Cities Revealed heat loss property database that is being used as part of the Council’s “Go Green” campaign.

The heat loss survey has been incorporated within Bournemouth’s “My Property” web pages to help residents find out how heat efficient their own homes are and how to reduce heating bills.

The GeoInformation Group Selected by Forestry Commission to Update Ancient Woodland Inventory

Cambridge – The GeoInformation Group (TGG), a leading supplier of geospatial data and services, has recently won a contract with the Forestry Commission, the Countryside Council for Wales and the Woodland Trust to revise the Ancient Woodland Inventory (AWI) in Wales and to create the first inventory of Wales’ wood pasture.

The Highland Council Wins BCS Award for Mapping Innovation

22 June 2010, The prestigious British Cartographic Society (BCS) Award was presented to The Highland Council at the 2010 awards ceremony held last week during the Society’s Annual Symposium at the Village Hotel and Conference Centre in Nottingham.

The BCS has recognised innovative use of mapping at the recently held BCS Symposium entitled “Talking with Maps” that attracted over 100 mapping professionals and enthusiasts. The winning individuals and organisations, announced during the awards ceremony, were rewarded for demonstrating their innovation and excellence through the successful use of better map design.

The GeoInformation Group Reveals London In Just One Day 

New aerial imagery captured using state-of-the-art camera

10 June 2010: Cambridge – A stunning new aerial image revealing life in remarkable detail across the capital has been captured by The GeoInformation® Group to upgrade its existing Cities Revealed™ London database.

This new aerial photography survey of London was completed in just one day on the 23rd of May 2010.  Previous air surveys of London have taken up to three years to complete due to weather and complexities of air traffic restrictions across one of the busiest air spaces in the world.

Using a state-of-the-art digital A3 camera, The GeoInformation Group, along with its flying partner Aerodata International Surveys, was able to survey and collect over 4500 images across London in one flight.  The new camera technology enabled the survey aircraft to fly more efficiently yet still collect 10 cm ground resolution imagery.

GeoDATA 2010 Regarded As “Must-See Event For All Professionals”

Registration now open for Glasgow and Belfast.

June 2010 - Training4GIS™, the training and consultancy division of The GeoInformation Group™, has successfully completed its first phase of GeoDATA seminars staged around the UK and Eire this year.

So far, GeoDATA 2010 has staged four out of six of its intuitive one-day events that has attracted over 400 delegates. Venues visited throughout April and May include Dublin, Cardiff, Liverpool and London. Glasgow and Belfast are planned for November for which registration is now open at www.training4gis.com.
