UK Location Programme - 'What's in it for System Suppliers?' - 18th November 2009
Event Start date: 18 Nov 2009

What it will cover?
The UK Location Programme will be holding a one day briefing session for System Suppliers on 18th November 2009 at the School of Economic Science, London. This is being event managed by the AGI.

The UK Location Programme was created to deliver on the promise of the UK Location Strategy and the INSPIRE Directive.  Recently the programme delivered the 'Conceptual Design' for the UK Location Information Infrastructure and the more detailed definition for it - the 'Blueprint'.

As we look to 2010 and beyond, the role of System Suppliers becomes key to enabling the benefits of the UK Location Strategy (and therefore those of INSPIRE) to be realised across the public and private sectors.

This briefing will focus on the needs of the System Suppliers and cover the following important issues:

  •     Introducing the UK Location Information Infrastructure
  •     Explanation of the Conceptual Design and the Blueprint and what they will deliver
  •     Engaging with the UK Location Programme - what's in it for you?
  •     The benefit and value for your customers - what's in it for them?
  •     What will happen and when - the roadmap for future developments

The format of the day will be a mix of presentation and workshop format allowing for open discussion and ample time for you to have your questions answered.   This is the first time that something of this level of detail and focus for System Suppliers has been on offer - so don't miss this chance to learn and to have your say.

Who should attend?

This is not aimed at the end user.  This briefing has been specifically created for the system supplier community and with active support of the AGI and the System Supplier SIG. Attendance is open to any System Supplier, Systems Integrator or Software Developer

  •     involved in provision of data sharing and interoperability tools
  •     with a need to understand the impact that the INSPIRE Directive and UK Location Strategy will have on your development plans and the impact on your customers
