Local Government Officer, Ceredigion County Council
Morgan is an environmental scientist and an information management professional with 20 years of commercial experience. His work spans large corporates, entrepreneurship, academia and the public sector. Morgan leads spatial data strategy and product development at Ceredigion County Council. He has successfully transformed the organisation by delivering spatial data via open geospatial tools to thousands of users. Applied studies in GIS and Remote Sensing brought him to Wales from South Africa, but the wonderful natural beauty and collaborative geocommunity compelled him to stay. Morgan’s active contribution to this community through the AGI led to him Chairing the AGI Cymru team and has underpinned initiatives such as the All Wales Mapping Service. Morgan represents the Welsh voice on Council and brings a more diverse perspective. He is a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society - his fascination with spatial and temporal patterns of life sees him adventuring to places less travelled.
