We’re delighted to invite you to the next AGI Cambridge Network Meetup, taking place from 16:30-19:30 on Wednesday 2 December at The Bradfield Centre, Cambridge Science Park. Join geospatial professionals from across the region for an evening of short talks, practical insights and networking focused on Artificial Intelligence in Action: Part Two.
Following the strong response to our last Cambridge meetup, we’re returning with another locally rooted event designed around the interests of the regional geospatial community. It is an opportunity to hear practical ideas, meet peers and strengthen connections across Cambridge and the surrounding area.
Building on the energy of the last Cambridge meetup, this event gives more people the opportunity to share practical experiences, exchange ideas and make useful connections in one of the UK’s most innovative geospatial hubs.
Why Cambridge
Cambridge is uniquely positioned at the intersection of geospatial, data science, and emerging technologies. Our goal is to create a space where the region’s expertise can come together, from:
- Local GIS and GI practitioners
- Start‑ups and innovators working with spatial data
- Researchers across Cambridge’s academic ecosystem
- Public sector and infrastructure organisations
- Companies exploring AI, data governance, and location intelligence
This meetup aims to spark knowledge‑sharing, networking and cross‑sector collaboration, showcasing the breadth of geospatial innovation happening across our region.
What to Expect
Our April session focused on the AGI Foresight theme “AI in Geospatial: Promise, Peril and the Path Forward”. This follow-up gives more community members who offered to share their stories the chance to present. Expect short talks, lively discussion and informal networking over geobeers and pizza.
Call for Speakers
We’re also inviting members of the community to contribute a short talk of 10–15 minutes at a future Cambridge meetup as we plan for 2027. If you have a practical case study, emerging idea or fresh perspective on geospatial innovation, we’d love to hear from you.
Supporting the Community
As a volunteer‑run, not‑for‑profit organisation, the AGI relies on community partnerships to keep events vibrant. The Bradfield Centre is generously providing the venue free of charge, and we welcome optional contributions towards refreshments for those who want increased visibility on the night.
Registration is free but required, and spaces are limited. Please sign up early to secure your place.
If you’re interested in speaking, supporting, or just being part of this new community, we’d be delighted to hear from you. We look forward to welcoming you to the first of many Cambridge meetups and to building a thriving new regional network together.
