Branches of the AGI are active in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales (Cymru).
The national groups allow the AGI to be more agile in tackling issues that are relevant to that particular community and to meet particular needs arising from devolution. They can take into account the different structures, institutions and policy priorities within devolved nations. The national groups have continued to grow as more powers are devolved to the national authorities.
