An evening seminar starting at 5pm, focussed around building the case for GIS and how we as an industry can sell those benefits for better asset and resource management. We will kick off with two presentations:
- "Applications and Integration of BIM into a GIS" by Gerwyn Macey, GIS Consultant for AECOM.
- Matthew Leaver, Principal GIS Consultant at Arcadis will present examples of how Arcadis have applied GIS to the rail, nuclear and energy sectors to benefit asset data collection and management. The case studies will include identifying benefits, practical considerations for delivery and benefits realisation.
These presentations will be followed by a short stint of audience participation, as Neil Moloney of Pinpoint Mapping leads a discussion on how to sell the potential of GIS to businesses who are not aware of the geographic data industry.
At 7pm, the plan is to head onto the Knights Templar Inn (1 The Square, Bristol, Avon BS1 6DG) for a couple of networking drinks before people head home.
If you're coming from outside Bristol, we recommend that you travel into the city centre by train or bus and walk to the venue; no parking is available at the office (there are pay and display car parks in the vicinity).
Spaces for the seminar are limited, so please sign up early!
