How can professional development, recognition and career pathways help the geospatial sector respond to changing skills needs?

Join the AGI Education and Skills group from 12:00-13:00 on Tuesday 3 November for a webinar with the Royal Geographical Society exploring how professional bodies can help individuals and organisations build, recognise and adapt geospatial capability.

The webinar supports AGI’s wider Education and Skills agenda and the Foresight Report 2030 theme of the “Great Skills Shift”, with practical insight from the RGS Professional and Policy Team.

The session will cover opportunities to:

  • Gain professional recognition through Chartered Geographer accreditation
  • Develop professional practice and maintain high professional standards, including support for early career professionals through the Professional Pathway
  • Build networks and engage with the wider geographical and geospatial community through connections across sectors and specialisms, including through Society Fellowship (FRGS)
  • Raise professional visibility and demonstrate expertise, helping to strengthen the credibility and visibility of geography, geospatial practice and geographical practitioners

Whether you are early in your career, an established professional, an educator, employer or someone interested in strengthening geospatial capability, this webinar will offer practical insight into the support available and how it contributes to the wider skills agenda.
