SUMMARY:Geospatial in Natural Capital Opportunities\, Challenges and Standa
 rdisation
DESCRIPTION:Geospatial in Natural Capital: Opportunities\, Challenges and S
tandardisation\n\nJoin us at Geovation in London on 1st July\, where we wi
ll convene a diverse mix of stakeholders operating across the Natural Capi
tal value chain\, to drive forward a standardised approach to spatial repo
rting\, monitoring and evaluation.\n\nNatural Capital refers to the stock
of natural resources\, such as water\, air\, soil and biodiversity\, from
which people can or do benefit. England’s first Land Use Framework has r
ecently been published\, and the government has acknowledged that nature m
ust be considered as critical infrastructure. This follows enhanced legisl
ative demands\, with the requirement now being mandatory for all new devel
opment to improve biodiversity by 10% (Biodiversity Net Gain)\, which came
into force across England in 2024.\n\nWith Natural Capital continuing to
receive increased attention and prominence\, there is a need for consisten
cy and standardisation in measurement\, monitoring and evaluation\, all of
which is underpinned by location. Although frameworks are consolidating\,
a wide range of geospatial methods are currently being used for reporting
natural capital.\n\nAt this event\, participants will hear directly from
a broad range of perspectives and organisations\, including Taskforce for
Nature Related Financial Disclosure (TNFD)\, Natwest\, Howden Insurance\,
Ordnance Survey and more.\n\nThe full day program will include group parti
cipation in a series of roundtable discussions\, with the aim of facilitat
ing the development of improved geospatial standards.\n\nNumbers are limit
ed\, and available on a first come\, first served basis\, with a registrat
ion fee of £75 for AGI Members\, and £120 for AGI Non-Members\, to cover
the costs of lunch and early evening drinks reception.\n\nRegister your p
