Damian Testa was recently appointed Senior Public Affairs Manager to the RGS-IBG and AGI.
We’re delighted to announce, along with the RGS-IBG team, that Damian Testa (pictured above) has been appointed as Senior Public Affairs Manager, which is a co-funded role serving the needs of both organisations.
Damian will help us to further a shared vision and mission to ensure that geography and geographic information is recognised as an important enabler to the world of big data that surrounds us in the digital economy, and is used more widely across the public, private and third sectors. You can see more information about him here.
Have you bought your ticket yet to #GeoCom17 – Smart GeoSpatial - on Thursday, 26th October 2017?
We’re delighted that the earlybird tickets sold out, with the next batch now on release. Have you booked your place yet? The programme is being fleshed out with some exciting speakers already confirmed, so look out for updates on #GeoCom17. Key amongst them are Dr Helen Ferrier, Head of Policy Services, NFU. She is responsible for a department of cross-sector policy experts who work on behalf of the NFU’s 55,000 members. Mark Bew MBE, Chair, UK Government Digital Built Britain Programme which is charged with delivering BIM Level 2 into the UK Public Sector Construction Sector by 2016 and Level 3 by 2025. Mark was awarded the MBE for services to construction in January 2012
If you fancy taking the spotlight for just seven minutes to tell the GeoCom audience about your (non-commercial) insights into your current project, then why not submit your lightning talk here and be a part of a key geospatial event?
Once again, we are very fortunate to have secured some excellent sponsors for our flagship event: Platinum sponsor Carto, Gold sponsors Cadline, Deetu and Ordnance Survey, along with Media Partner GIS Professional. Without them all, the event would not be possible, so a great big thank you to all of them.... and hopefully a few more!
And the AGI Award 2017 for Career Achievement in GI goes to...
If there’s someone you’d like to nominate for this prestigious award, please let us know by 15th September. We’ll be making the presentation at the end of the #GeoCom17 event on 26th October. There’s more info here.
