Next week is the 7th meeting of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management.
The UN Committee of Experts provides a forum for coordination and dialogue among Member States, and between Member States and relevant international organizations to promote global frameworks, common principles, policies, guidelines and standards for the inter-operability and inter-changeability of geospatial data and services. Ordnance Survey leads the UK Member State’s delegation at meetings.
In addition to UN Member State delegations, academic, and private sector input is provided through informal networks with the same names. Read more about them here
At its last meeting AGI Council agreed in future to provide a channel for input to the UN-GGIM Thematic Groups and UK position. A workshop will be arranged in the autumn to report the outcome of this year’s meeting to members and to discuss ways to do this.
Apologies for the short notice.
Whilst the deadline has now passed, contributions are still welcomed as they will feed into future sessions and the wider debate on frameworks for the geospatial industry!
