The Mayor of London’s consultation on his draft Transport Strategy closed on 2 October. The Strategy is the statutory document that sets out the policies and proposals of the Mayor to reshape transport in London over the next 25 years.
AGI and the RGS-IBG have submitted a joint response welcoming the level of ambition in the draft Strategy, but also importantly setting out how the strategy would be enhanced by more explicit recognition of the changes to the way we live that will come through technological advances underpinned by geographic/ location based information and insight. Transport will be a key aspect of these changes. The joint response highlights how to enhance the delivery of the Strategy around place (location).
The next step is for all consultation responses received to be considered and analysed by TfL, following which the Mayor’s Transport Strategy will be published in 2018.
