The Association for Geographic Information (AGI) has announced three new members elected to Council at the 2019 Annual General Meeting.

Elly Ball, Rachel Higgins and Alan Moore bring a wealth of marketing expertise, policy experience and business skills which will help determine the strategic direction of the UK’s largest membership organisation for the geospatial sector.

AGI Chair Matt Leaver said: “I am delighted to welcome Elly, Rachel and Alan to our Council. This year marks the AGI’s 30th anniversary and our members’ geospatial information has never been more relevant or important.  As ambassadors for the value of GI and the geospatial industry in the UK, our Council is focused on making key decisions to shape our community, to further our professions, and to provide leadership for geospatial peers.”

Geospatial marketeer, Elly Ball is CEO of 'Get Kids into Survey', an initiative founded in 2017 with the mission to educate and excite the next generation of surveyors with fun, educational content, material and media. Prior to her current role, Elly worked for Elaine Ball Technical Marketing, offering her geospatial marketing skills to a number of clients from surveying manufacturers, to distributers and small surveying companies and software houses.

As Policy Manager at Ordnance Survey, she supports OS’s strategic relationships into government, and the coordination and execution of public affairs activity, working closely with Directors and senior officials within the business to maximise the impact of engagement with government and wider customers.

An advocate of open source geospatial technologies, Alan Moore is CEO of thinkWhere and has an extensive career in the geospatial industry across the public and private sector.
