The Improvement Service (IS) is a publicly funded company limited by guarantee, with a total annual budget in the region of £8 million.

About the role

The Improvement Service works with public sector bodies to improve outcomes and develop solutions to meet digital service needs for Scottish citizens and service providers.  One aspect of this is to support Scottish Local Government’s input into the programme of work overseen by the Improvement Service Board and the support of the One Scotland Mapping Agreement.

The Spatial Information Service has been in place for over five years and has matured into a functioning service which covers four business areas; these being the One Scotland Gazetteer, the National Street Gazetteer, TellMe Scotland and the Spatial Hub.

The role involves the implementation and development of a quality improvement programme for addressing data within the One Scotland Gazetteer Community.

This includes leading the coordination of address-matching alongside managing feedback/error resolution from users of the One Scotland Gazetteer as part of driving continual data improvement.

The role will also assist with the development of the One Scotland Gazetteer as a core element of a wider service and improve the collective approach to addressing and spatial information in Scotland.
