The Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) is calling for individuals and companies to register their work experience opportunities for young people.
Inspiring young people to pursue a career in geography has never been more important, and work experience is pivotal to making this a reality.
Work experience is key to raising awareness of geographical careers, helping to demonstrate the practical application of geographical skills beyond the classroom and showcasing the diverse range of career paths available. Work experience also allows young people to explore their interests and discover their strengths, whilst simultaneously developing their professional skills.
Employers benefit too, with work experience providing a fantastic way for employers to build long-last relationships with local schools, colleges and universities. It’s also an excellent recruitment opportunity, allowing companies to access talent and providing young people with opportunities to work locally.
The Society has recently relaunched its work experience directory and is particularly aiming to increase the visibility of geospatial opportunities, although all geographical work experience is promoted.
Please fill in this short form to help the Society connect your workplace opportunities with their network of students and schools: https://www.rgs.org/workexperience.
