AGI Early Careers Network 2023 Round-Up

AGI Early Careers Network

AGI GeoCom: ECN Networking Session

The ECN held a successful lunchtime networking session at this year’s GeoCom providing young professionals an informal opportunity to find out more about the various paths to geospatial accreditation. Thanks to all those who attended, including the representatives from RGS-IBG, RICS and CICES who gave up their time to be on hand to answer any questions.

New Early Careers Network Committee Members

This year we have welcomed three new AGI ECN Committee members – Daniela Cialfi, Jamie Heath and Douglas Leno.

Daniela is an Assistant Professor at the Institute for Complex Systems (National Research Council of Italy). She wanted to join the ECN committee so she could contribute to the geospatial community.

Jamie is a Geospatial Graduate at the Ordnance Survey, having studied BSc Geography with Applied GIS at university. Jamie loves all things geospatial and was first introduced to the work of the ECN when asked to speak on a panel about getting the most out of early career positions. The ECN provides a great opportunity to get involved with the wider geospatial community and by joining the committee Jamie hopes to support others who are just getting started with their careers.

Doug is a Data and Technology Graduate at Ordnance Survey. He got involved in the AGI ECN because he has received great help and advice so far in his career and would love to pay it forward and help other people access resources and guidance too.

We’re really excited to work more with Daniela, Jamie and Doug in the coming year.

The ECN committee wishes you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Thank you to everyone who attended our events during the year, and also, thanks to all those who have supported us throughout the year, it’s much appreciated.

If you’d like to join ECN, you can sign up here. You can stay up-to-date with the latest news and events by following ECN on Twitter @AGI_ECN and the AGI on LinkedIn. If you would like to get in touch with the committee, email ecn@agi.org.uk.

We have lots of exciting plans for 2024 and we look forward to seeing you at an event next year!
