AGI Earth Observation Network Event 29 January 2025

Lively discussions and offers of both free data trials and free beers featured at the second AGI EO Network on January 29th, at Geovation in London. we posed the question at the start to the audience of over forty attendees – what single technology is going to have the biggest influence in Earth observation in 2025? Then following our eight speakers from both satellite companies and the wider geospatial world presenting lightning talks on their latest tech and how they’re using EO, we then asked the same question again – had the audience changed their mind on hearing the talks? It certainly seems that there are high expectations for hyperspectral data and what it could deliver for all sorts of monitoring applications.

We had good news from sponsors Pixxel – who since the first EO network meetup October have successfully launched a satellite and are collecting data. From the range of lighting talks we learned about SatVu’s progress with their thermal satellite HotSat, opportunities for testing data from the Earth Observation Datahub, ConsultingWhere’s courses for geospatial professionals, ESRI UK’s latest integration of EO data, Kita’s use of EO in insurance products, work in land monitoring from Defra and Natural England, and innovative use of EO data from Local Energy Systems.

With thanks to all our speakers and sponsors! Look out for AGI EO Network at Geobusiness and for news of our next event which we plan to hold outside of London.
