Association for Geographic Information Announces Speakers for GeoCom 2024

London, 01 October 2024 – The Association for Geographic Information, the membership group for organisations and individuals working in geospatial, has opened registration for its annual conference. The flagship event for the UK geo sector, GeoCom 24 will take place on the 28th November 2024 at the prestigious Royal Geographic Society (with IBG) in London. Tickets are now available to purchase online with early bird discounts available until the 7th October. The AGI team behind GeoCom 24 are also pleased to announce the first speakers under the conference theme ‘Connecting Communities; the Geospatial Perspective’. These include Alexandra Notay, an internationally recognised expert on in housing, placemaking and ESG. Notay, Independent Commissioner of the UK Geospatial Commission, will be sharing her advisory and investment experience within the real estate, planning and social housing sectors across four continents.

Also featuring within the GeoCom 24 Programme is Professor Andrew Tatem, AGI award winner for Excellence with Impact for his work with World Population an organisation that is ensuring communities around the world are counted and mapped so they can be included in decision making. Jade Saunders, Executive Director of World Forest ID, will also be presenting on the use of AI-enabled spatial models to understand the source of location traded products.

GeoCom, the only independent event in the geospatial calendar that is organised by geospatial professionals for geospatial professionals, will also include a number of breakout sessions, networking opportunities and topic specific meetings. The AGI Early Careers network will be hosting an informal lunchtime session, giving those at the start of their geospatial careers the opportunity to engage in informal discussions with peers and designated spotlight networkers (established professionals from a wide variety of geographic sectors).
