London, 27 April 2022 – The UK membership organisation for companies and individuals working in the geospatial sector is excited to celebrate a return to in person events. After a two-year break, the Association for Geographic Information has announced the return of its flagship event GeoCom. The one-day conference, which is open to members and non-members alike, will be held at the Royal Geographical Society in London on the 11th of October 2022.
The Association for Geographic Information will also be exhibiting at GeoBusiness and will have a presence on the Education Floor of the Esri UK Annual Conference. Both events are taking place in person, at ExCel and the QEII Centre respectively, during May 2022.
Adam Burke, newly elected Chair of the Association for Geographic Information, commented, “GeoCom, GeoBusiness and the Esri UK event represent the largest gatherings of geospatial professionals in the UK. It goes without saying that as the UKs only membership organisation specifically created to serve this sector that we are an integral part of such events. We are therefore delighted that, after an enforced break, we are back to doing what we love which is engaging with our members and reaching out to the wider community.”
“GeoCom is the AGI’s flagship event, and the largest independent event in the UK GI calendar that is organised for geospatial professionals by geospatial professionals,” he continued. “We are currently working on a topical and exciting conference programme and event structure and will be announcing headline speakers and opportunities to get involved in the forthcoming weeks.”
