CGI WiseWatt launches to enable efficient access to smart meter data

London, United Kingdom, 07 July 2025

CGI (NYSE: GIB) (TSX: GIB.A), one of the largest independent IT and business consulting services firms in the world, today announces the launch of CGI WiseWatt, a new cloud-based platform that enables organisations to easily and cost effectively access data from the tens of millions of smart meters in properties and small businesses throughout Great Britain.

CGI WiseWatt provides simple interfaces to access data including half-hourly and daily electricity and gas consumption, as well as tariff information. It also provides a consent portal that enables organisations to manage data access permissions. The data gathered through CGI WiseWatt will be key to enabling innovative propositions and services to support the drive towards Clean Power 2030, the government initiative to accelerate the decarbonisation of the power sector.

CGI WiseWatt removes a key barrier to smart meter data access by enabling accredited market participants to connect more efficiently, reducing the time and costly investment typically required to meet regulatory standards.

“Smart meters are now installed in more than 39 million homes across the UK, providing a huge opportunity gather critical insights to inform positive change,” comments Paul Buxton, Senior Vice President, Energy and Utilities at CGI in the UK. “CGI has played a significant role in the UK’s smart metering sector for over 15 years, supporting initial trials and developing and operating the industry’s central systems for Smart DCC. Building on this extensive experience, CGI WiseWatt will equip businesses with the tools and insights needed to enable smarter, more efficient energy services.”
