AGI Early Careers Network

Call for committee members

ECN is on the look out for new committee members to help deliver its mission of providing a platform for communication and collaboration of early career professionals within the geospatial industry.

We are looking for early career professionals to fill the below roles. The roles are a great opportunity to acquire transferable skills and collaborate with a range of geospatial organisations whilst supporting early career professionals. You will be supported by the AGI in your ECN role and can also request a reference for your contribution.

Event Coordinator(s): Facilitate the organisation and running of the ECN’s events (either virtual or in-person) with responsibilities including booking speakers in liaison with the AGI Council, managing ticketing/attendees and assisting with event delivery.

Time commitment:  Approx 2hrs/ week but varies depending on the event programme (more time will be required in the run up to events)

Northern Ireland Coordinator: Organise and arrange the ECN’s activities within NI, liaising with the ECN Co-Chairs to remain aligned to ECN strategy, and supporting the AGI NI national group. National coordinator roles have responsibility along with the Co-Chairs for maintaining the central aims of the ECN in that region. Sharing successes, insights and lessons learned are vital to help drive improvements across the ECN as a whole.

Time commitment: Approx 2hrs/week

Wales Coordinator: Organise and arrange the ECN’s activities within Wales, liaising with the ECN Co-Chairs to remain aligned to ECN strategy, and supporting the AGI Cymru national group. National coordinator roles have responsibility along with the Co-Chairs for maintaining the central aims of the ECN in that region. Sharing successes, insights and lessons learned are vital to help drive improvements across the ECN as a whole.

Time commitment: Approx 2hrs/week

If you are interested in volunteering in any of these positions, please email ecn@agi.org.uk with a supporting statement (max. one side of A4). Tell us a bit about yourself, your career so far and why you’d be a good fit for the role that you would like to put yourself forward for. Please note, time commitments depend on the role, and we also have monthly committee meetings via Microsoft Teams (approx. 1 hour) which you would be expected to attend.
