Introducing the first AGI Cambridge Network meet up

We’re excited to announce the launch of the AGI Cambridge Network meet up, taking place 16:30-19:30 on Wednesday 6 May at The Bradfield Centre, Cambridge Science Park.

Last year, the AGI successfully tested expanding beyond our long‑established national events in Edinburgh, Cardiff, Belfast and London. Our new regional network gatherings were incredibly well‑received, demonstrating the demand for more locally‑rooted, community‑led activity.

Building on that momentum, we’re extending the regional network programme to Cambridge in 2026, and we’re delighted to be bringing this energy to one of the UK’s most innovative geospatial hubs.

Why Cambridge
Cambridge is uniquely positioned at the intersection of geospatial, data science, and emerging technologies. Our goal is to create a space where the region’s expertise can come together, from:

  • Local GIS and GI practitioners
  • Start‑ups and innovators working with spatial data
  • Researchers across Cambridge’s academic ecosystem
  • Public sector and infrastructure organisations
  • Companies exploring AI, data governance, and location intelligence

This first meet up aims to spark knowledge‑sharing, networking and cross‑sector collaboration, showcasing the breadth of geospatial innovation happening across our region.

What to Expect
Our May session focuses on the AGI Foresight Report theme of AI in Geospatial: Promise, Preil and the Path Forward. Expect short talks, lively discussion, and informal networking over geobeers and pizza.

Call for Speakers
During the registration process we’re inviting members of the community to contribute short talks. If you’re working on AI, automation, emerging workflows, or innovative uses of location data, we’d love to hear from you.

Supporting the Community
As a volunteer‑run, not‑for‑profit organisation, the AGI relies on community partnerships to keep events vibrant. The Bradfield Centre is generously providing the venue free of charge, and we welcome optional contributions towards refreshments for those who want increased visibility on the night.

Registration is free but required, as spaces are limited. Please sign up early to secure your place.
