Job Title
Earth Observation Consultant
Bio
I'm a spatial thinker who thrives on solving complex challenges through GIS and Earth Observation technology. My passion for geospatial solutions has led me through diverse and rewarding career experiences, from utilities and landscape engineering to land surveying, GIS training, GIS consulting for engineering consultancy, and now Earth Observation consulting. Professional Journey: My geospatial career began after completing my Bachelor's in Civil Engineering (2014), when a 6-month course in Geoinformation Science and Technology ignited my passion for GIS and Earth Observation. This foundation led me to pursue dual Master's degrees: one in Geoinformatics, where my research on "Kerala Flood 2018: Participatory GIS Flood Mapping, 3D GIS Flood Visualisation and Disaster Preparedness Plan" was published in a Scopus-indexed journal, and another in Energy and Environment Management from Teesside University, UK. During my time at Teesside University, I completed two specialized GIS internships: developing semi-automated Earth Observation methods for habitat classification using Sentinel satellite data, and providing technical GIS support to a Flood Risk Management Team. My dissertation analyzed drone effectiveness for constructing high-resolution DTMs for historical land use change analysis. Current Focus: As an Earth Observation consultant, I've expanded my expertise into Hyperspectral and Thermal Earth Observation technologies while contributing to the growth of the UK space and EO sector. I excel at researching innovative methods, navigating technical obstacles, and delivering actionable insights from complex spatial data. My approach combines continuous learning, expert networking, and rapid adaptation to emerging technologies.
