Morgan Commins OAF MSc FRGS CGeog

Morgan is an ecological macro thinker, scientist, and data professional with proven service delivery excellence across corporates, start-ups, the public sector, and academia. At Welsh Government, Morgan delivers strategic spatial intelligence for leadership in Marine Policy and Planning for high-profile UK cross-government programmes related to renewable energy. At Ordnance Survey, Morgan co-developed cutting-edge AI-based data products for Land Cover and Buildings. Morgan led spatial strategy in Welsh local government where he transformed geospatial services for thousands, through delivery of spatial data frameworks and open geospatial infrastructure and tools. Morgan leverages people skills and technical knowledge to engage stakeholders, achieve mutual outcomes, and drive accountability. The collaborative nature and “ubuntu” spirit of the Welsh geo-community contributes significantly to Morgan's success. Morgan is a long-standing member of AGI. He developed board and leadership skills as Chair of AGI Cymru, Director of AGI Council for six years, where he was also Honorary Secretary. Morgan is Chartered Geographer and is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society with IBG. Interests include travel, adventure, movement, languages, biodiversity, energy, and community.
